Dade Correctional Institution: Nurses Love Affair

Erin Nichole Kartis (now Erin Nichole Beckman) is a Nurse who briefly worked at Dade Correctional Institution... until she was fired for having a sexual affair with Inpatient Mental Health Until Inmate, Daniel Phillip Beckman.

Beckman DC #459334 was a violent Inmate that would self-mutilate to manipulate staff to get what he wanted, including Inpatient Mental Health Nurse, Kartis.
Now, this was not Beckman's first Nurse love affair. Beckman had multiple sexual affairs with various correctional staff at different state prisons throughout Florida.

So why was this allowed to happen under the supervision of The Florida Department of Corrections?

Even after Nurse Kartis was discovered to be having a sexual affair with Inmate Beckman, she was never criminally charged, nor had her nursing license revoked.

If the only punishment for committing a felony in the 3rd degree is termination, what is keeping staffing from having sexual contact with Inmates?
944.35 Authorized use of force; malicious battery and sexual misconduct prohibited; reporting required; penalties.—

(b)1. As used in this paragraph, the term “sexual misconduct” means the oral, anal, or vaginal penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another or the anal or vaginal penetration of another by any other object, but does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose or an internal search conducted in the lawful performance of the employee’s duty.
2. Any employee of the department or a private correctional facility as defined in s. 944.710 who engages in sexual misconduct with an inmate or an offender supervised by the department in the community, without committing the crime of sexual battery, commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
3. The consent of the inmate or offender supervised by the department in the community to any act of sexual misconduct may not be raised as a defense to a prosecution under this paragraph.
In fact, Nurse Kartis applied for a marriage license on April 23, 2012, in Miami, Florida. Just 7 after her prison beau was set to be released on March 30, 2012.

The happy couple tied the knot on May 25, 2012, & even had children together.

Nurse Kartis is no angel, in 2011 she attempted to stab a Law Enforcement Officer from the City of Orlando Police Department.

Instead of facing any serious consequences, Nurse Kartis was able to complete a pre-trial diversion program getting a free pass for an attempted stabbing a LEO.

What is the Beckman's up to now?

The happy couple currently resides in Missouri where Nurse Erin Kartis Beckman was able to advance in her nursing career while accumulating an astronomical amount of debt.

& just think, if it wasn't for the Florida Department of Corrections this happy union would have never been. Who said you can't find love in prison?

Miami-Dade County Public Schools: Covering Up "Bad Apples"

Unfortunately, parents in Miami, Florida know all too well about pervasive sexual abuse taking place by Miami-Dade County School Employees.

Sexual abuse, employee misconduct & an unlimited amount of embarrassing scandals plagued our previous disgraced superintendent, Alberto Carvalho.

But do parents in Miami know about physical, verbal & emotional abuse committed by Miami-Dade County School Employees? ↓↓↓

West Homestead Elementary School is a Title I, SINI Level 5 school, constructed in 1960, on fourteen acres in a rural multi-ethnic community. The facility is surrounded by low-income housing projects, a community park, and a recreational center. Many of the students at West Homestead Elementary School are a part of a large migrant population, which is situated on the south side of the school.
The ethnic/racial student population are 17% White, 36 % Black, 43 & Hispanic, and 2% classified as other. The mobility rate of the school is 40 %. Additionally, 11 % of the students are Special Education (SPED), 85 % Limited English Proficient (LEP) and 10 % are migrant.
"Highly Qualifed Instructors" West Homestead Elementary School is staffed with classroom instructors who have been certified and deemed highly qualified by the State of Florida per the issuance of a state teaching certificate, which documents the completion of a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of subject area(s).
Even with a final budget of $437,135.00 in 2007; West Homestead Elementary could not keep children safe from physical, verbal & emotional abuse from this "Highly Qualified Teacher", Nelly Ramos-Salgueiro.
Not just an MDCPS employee, but a 1st-grade teacher who was found GUILTY by The State of Florida Education Practices Commission of physical & verbal abuse of 6-7-year-old students that come from the lowest socio-economic class.
GUILTY, but never criminally charged or prosecuted for her abusive behavior & gross misconduct by a teacher; against children, she was entrusted to take care of.
This inspires the question. How are parents & schools notified if a teacher is found guilty by The State of Florida Education Practices Commission? Do Miami-Dade County Public Schools truly care if children are protected from teachers that commit any type of abuse against children? No.

This 1st-grade teacher was "moved" to different schools & allowed to continue to teach instead of being fired, criminally charged & have her teaching license permanently revoked. (See Below)

Nelly Ramos-Salgueiro currently works at Kendall Square K-8 Center. How unfortunate that Miami-Dade County Public Schools continues to employ employees that commit heinous acts against children.

Instead of addressing the "Bad Apples", the Miami-Dade County School Board along with United Teachers of Dade conspire to cover up corruption & unethical professionals that are employed by this criminal enterprise.
